Babbarra Women's Centre
Bábbarra Women’s Centre is located in Maningrida, homeland of the Kunibídji people of West Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. Established in 1987 as a women's safe house, the centre has grown into a leading women's art centre, nurturing the careers of women artists in Maningrida.
Bábbarra Designs is one of the oldest continuously operating indigenous textile enterprises in Australia. With over 90 designs in the screen print library and many more hand carved Lino tiles, Babbarra Designs is in itself, a cultural archive. Working with textiles and contemporary media has allowed women artists to convey and preserve unique traditional themes linked with country, clan totems and Djang (ancestral creator beings).

Shipping policy
The following are the terms and conditions that constitute our Shipping Policy:
Artwork is shipped out of Maningrida via Australia Post via Air North. Our shipping rates are $17 for domestic post. $17 shipping has been included in the sale price.Please contact us regarding International post. Fees start at $60 for registered international post. All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars.
Works on paper are shipped by TOLL and require flat packing. Please contact us for a shipping quote.
Please clearly nominate a delivery address. Please nominate a mobile telephone number for tracking purposes. Every effort is made to dispatch artworks as quickly as possible, but specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Please keep in mind that you are purchasing something from a remote community. Minimum delivery time is usually one to two weeks after the item has been dispatched by Bábbarra Women’s Centre. All orders are processed within 3-5 business days, where upon you will receive a tracking number for your purchase.
Refund policy
It is very important to us that you are happy with your purchase. If not, we will refund you for the value of the artwork, minus the freight costs. You must notify the art centre within 10 days of receiving the artwork if you are not fully satisfied. You need only pay the cost of returning the fabric to the art centre. The artwork must be returned in its original condition with all of its accompanying documentation for the guarantee to apply. However please choose carefully as returns/refunds can be time consuming.
Return policy
We offer returns within 30 days of receiving your order. The refund will be processed when we receive the undamaged goods. Returned items must have all original documentation, tags still on and be returned in original packaging. Returned items must be in their original condition and have no visible signs of wear, use or damage.
