Yinjaa-Barni Art

Lot 3/48 Roe Street, Roebourne, WA, 6718

Wanthiwa! Yinjaa-Barni Art is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Corporation governed by an Aboriginal board of directors. Yinjaa-barni is Yindjibarndi for ‘staying together’, which perfectly describes how our artists have remained strong over the years.

Yinjaa-Barni Art is a collective of Aboriginal artists who predominantly belong to the Yindjibarndi language group and whose ancestral homelands surround the Fortescue River and Millstream Tablelands. We have 3 generations of artists working together.

Based in Roebourne, a small town in Western Australia’s Pilbara region of the north-west of the state, the Yinjaa-Barni artists create deeply personal works of collective memory, rendering the wildflowers, river systems and landforms of their country onto canvas.
